So both Firestick 4K 2018 & Max look the same with the Spears & Munsil eagle beak shot.
I tried both original profile 7 and converted to 8.1.
It's not as yellow as with the LG C8 internal player.
L2 metadata isn't being ignored, so this might actually be the player-led issue.
Has anyone reproduced it with another device?

Sorry if this is discussed before. I assume yusesope's tool version (FEL to MEL + UHD-BD to 8.1 + SKIP HDR10+ + Experimental Muxer) is the proper one for adding the "-skip_hdr10plus" switch in the DEMUX.bat, but I can't get this to work.
Commandwindow says "Wait..." and nothing happens for ages. Without the added switch demuxing works fine. Anybody maybe knows why it isn't working?
Much obliged.

Not really able to answer your question, but I also own both versions, 2018 and 2021 models of Fire TV 4k Stick. Sorry if I am being redundant with my question. But can we safely say Fire TV 4k Max 2021 model does not play FEL DV, but ignores the El and acts like Nvidia Shield? If this is the case, how accurate the colors are with "MEL" at that point if it's ignoring the EL? Are there any test files to test it out properly @quietvoid? Any way I can help you with the test?

I don't think they use player-led (I was the one who suspected it): with our 2018 LG Oleds it's easy to notice, it
produces the same banding/posterization as with HDR10 in PC mode (probably triggering the same low latency mode, where certain basic image processing is disabled).
So Oppo's player-led output is different from Firestick4k's output, there's no such issue with Firestick4k.
So, not sure why it's different, but we saw this with the black level test as well, that's why I stopped using Firestick4k, and use the Plex app on the TV instead.
If you upload samples and tell me exactly when/what to look for I can take a look.

I don't have a profile 7 FEL that looks different to check it out.
I'm pretty sure it ignores the EL, though.
So far regardless of profile 7 or (converted) profile 8, there's a difference in quality for the sample below.

You can try this sample:

The eagle's beak looks noticeably better in the internal player compared to the Firestick for me.
Next step is probably to try figuring out what's happening and if it can be prevented.

Thanks. I remember someone posted some homebrew videos for FEL to test the P7 on player called Dune? Can't find it anywhere

They don't work at all on the Firestick.

True. Was able to locate them on avsforums. They don't play at all with Plex. Kodi is not ideal for me, but have you tried it?

Would you be able to try one of the titles where the FEL is obvious (e.g. Power Rangers or Total Recall) to see if it is being used?
RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 08, 2021 12:23 am
that's because I did those samples with tsmuxer and it breaks something in the RPU when you split the file. I didn't know about that back then.
As @FubbAyH said, the ending credits of Power Ranger is a better way to verify if FEL is processed.
The credits are grey like HDR10, so nothing new.
Bummer. Will test it anyway hehe

Edit:
Just tried MKB FEL. You are right. It's not processing the EL
