Error scsi error : illegal request: media region

I am getting an error saying : illegal request : media region code is mismatched to logical unit region error occurred while reading BD-re matshita bd mlt

My drive is letting me rip all my blu rays but every time I put in a regular DVD I get this message.
I checked my region which is set to region 1. I can’t figure out for the life of me what is going on! Someone help please!
