Hi All,
I bought a firmware-downgraded ASUS BW-16D1HT that was working great until the other night, when I tried inserting an old DVD-R.
Now it no longer reads any disc. When a disc is inserted, I can hear the drive make an attempt at reading the disc and ultimately give up. Windows 10 asks me to "Please insert a disc." MakeMKV doesn't see a disc either.
Thinking maybe my old DVD-R dirtied up the lens, I took the drive apart and rubbed some alcohol on it. It didn't do the trick.
I doubt there would be any software issue that would have triggered the drive to stop reading all discs, but as I'm new to this I can't be sure. Any tips?

Re: ASUS BW-16D1HT No Disc Troubleshoot
I'm having same issue too. although the boot loader did read the vista setup disc i rebooted with when windows could not.kinda proves the drive is ok and there's something stopping access in windows.
