F9 The Fast Saga

Post by JulesKeeper »

I'm located in the US. I just received this 4K disc today. When I tried rip it, I received the following error message:

The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted

DEBUG: Code 0 at {5RBA^y-#)9OM3ec:29396092

DEBUG: Code 0 at {5RBA^y-#)9OM3ec:29395172

Failed to open disc

I just emailed the log file. Please let me know if you need anything else. Thanks for your help.

Same here. First time I've seen this "failed to open disc" error. Suggestions?

It's been 2 days and I'm still unable to rip F9 4K UHD. I've emailed another dump .tgz file.

FYI...I've been able to rip 4K UHD "Black Widow" and "Cruella".

Thanks for the help.

I'm having the same problem. Tried to rip it on Tuesday, sent the dump file, and have been trying a few times a day since. I have internet access enabled and was able to rip the blu-ray versions just fine. Not so much on the UHD.

I've tried 2 different drives:

Drive Information
OS device name: /dev/rdisk14
Current profile: BD-ROM
Manufacturer: HL-DT-ST
Product: BD-RE BU40N
Revision: 1.03
Serial number: MZZJ3TE2507
Firmware date: 2118-10-24 19:34
Bus encryption flags: 17
Highest AACS version: 76

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 1.03
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Drive Information
Manufacturer: ASUS
Product: BW-16D1HT
Revision: 3.10
Serial number: KLUJ5MD3517
Firmware date: 2119-01-04 10:14
Bus encryption flags: 1F
Highest AACS version: 76

LibreDrive Information
Status: Enabled
Drive platform: MT1959
Firmware type: Patched (microcode access re-enabled)
Firmware version: 3.10
DVD all regions: Yes
BD raw data read: Yes
BD raw metadata read: Yes
Unrestricted read speed: Yes

Any ideas on getting this thing to rip??

Also a note for folks having playback issues in Plex - it may be the extended version and something to do with the branch to grab the extra scenes. I say this cause I have the same problem with The Martian Extended edition ONLY. The regular one plays just fine. Someone over in Plex land posited that it may be something with the the extra bits are getting pulled in. It's way over my head. :)

Sure thing. Not much here though. One from each drive just in case. Are there any other logs??

Also, I did check to make sure DNS wasn't acting hinky on me. It's fine. Or seems to be at any rate.

Code: Select all

003332:0000 Saved AACS dump file as file:///file/system/place/MakeMKV/MKB20_v76_F9_D24C.tgz
003303:0000 The volume key is unknown for this disc - video can't be decrypted
That's pretty much it in a nutshell. Email that .tgz file to svq@makemkv.com.

Even though others have posted that the disc is decrypting for them, it is sometimes the case that the same title has multiple encryption keys. This is a reason why it is helpful to post which key you submit. In your case, you've got key "D24C". Someone else very likely submitted a different key, which had a different file name.

Already sent another one today. I’ll try not to keep being a pest about it. Didn’t realize there could be multiple keys.

Thanks much.
