Is there a way to know when it will work or will it just work one day?

edit: couldn't get disc 2 to work, submitted dump files. How did you get it to work? Mine says no dice.

I had my copy shipped straight from Amazon, this past Tuesday. Disk 1 ripped immediately, with no problems. I have spent the last two days trying to get Disc 2 to work, but it just keeps stopping (that is the say the progress bar stops & the time to complete gradually increases). I let it run about 6 hours to no avail. I will try again right now.

That sounds more like a disc problem. Either dirty or damaged. Try cleaning the disc.

I got mine to rip last night, did a backup only. I haven't watched yet.

Great advice. There was a small smudge. I cleaned it & it ripped. Thanks. :)

For everyone who is doing a full back-up, what's the size of the back-up for each disk?

Disc 1 = 79.7
Disc 2 = 55.4

Ok cool. Thanks for confirming @Wolf359

I keep getting a read error when I back-up Disc 1, but it's only after it says it successfully backed up the disc. And it seemed fine on playback. And my disc sizes are the same as yours.

So wasn't sure if something was missing.

On my Canadian Retail copy, I complete a rip of Disc 1 just fine. But I get hash check fails on mts62 or was it 69. I tried on an ASUS and LG drive, both threw errors. I tried taking a microfiber cloth to it in between drive swaps too. I am no trying to make an iso with another program. It appears to be working. Still want MakeMKV working though, this other option is much slower.

It may need a better cleaning than just a cloth. Some dish soap or alcohol. Sometimes when I have this problem a simple wipe with a cloth takes care of it. Personally I have found that eyeglass wipes (several times on occasion) work well get a disc to read if other methods fail.

I respect and appreciate your advice, but I have never had to go to such lengths. It's funny I finished the LENGTHY backup using the other program. All I did was cycle the tray again for the upteenth time. Fired up MakeMKV and got a find rip now. Very happy even if it took a few goes.
