Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The new Fire TV Stick came out today - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MQZXN1X/re ... CB5HMB36RE. Wonder if the new GPU/CPU supports more DV profiles lol
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I've preordered one for AV1, but the speed upgrade is welcomed.
Any Dolby Vision improvement is a bonus to me.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
I've converted the profile 7 to profile 5 DV using mp4muxer.
After extracting the single layer profile 7 mkv
to profile 5 DV mp4 as it triggers DV in my laptop
The problem is that the Audio is delayed, I went through the forum and found I had to to use dovi_tool, how do i proceed..?

@ quietvoid
L2 meta keep coming out weird.
But on the xml it seem to be correct well (not 100% sure it’s correct.)
What could be the reason for this?
Just curious if u got any insight on this from others ellse were
So far I get a perfect l1DV meta match from resolve min-average-max are all correct
For spares & munsil compare to the original

I don't know, I've mentioned that the L2 doesn't always match in the RPU.Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:49 pm@ quietvoid

My only test samples are Netflix's encoded streams, and the corresponding CMv2.9 XML.
Sometimes it's fine, sometimes the values are different.

I wonder if the monitor I’m using plays a part, I’ll try & find out.quietvoid wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 5:31 pmI don't know, I've mentioned that the L2 doesn't always match in the RPU.Manixx2020beyound wrote: ↑Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:49 pm@ quietvoid

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Could someone give me information about profile 4 vs profile 8?
As far as i know
Profile 4 supports enhancement layer but base layer is SDR compatible
Profile 8 is HDR compatible but doesnt support enhancement layer
My tv is lg g1 and internal plex app can play both profiles (p4 st dl/dt dl and p8 st sl). Why are we focusing on converting FEL movies to profile 8 instead of profile 4? I have made only one movie so far with both profiles and they looked like same to me.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Because you're not actually converting anything when using profile 4, just changing the container.cannibalist2 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 3:39 pmMy tv is lg g1 and internal plex app can play both profiles (p4 st dl/dt dl and p8 st sl). Profile 4 is not compatible with HDR10 video such as UHD discs.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Profile 5 includes reshaping metadata and some different flags/values for the color space.
Otherwise the actual dynamic metadata should be the same.
The reshaping process recreates the YCbCr image, with supposedly close to 12 bits equivalent info.
