There is a problem with reading the disk. Have you tried cleaning it?

If MakeMKV cannot figure out the key for a disk, it won't try reading it, and the log will show the creation of a .TGZ file to submit for analysis. If it starts reading it and then fails, that usually indicates that the drive said it couldn't read the disk, OR (even more diabolical), it sends back "maybe correct" data instead of reporting an error.

Thanks Woodstock
The disc was clean, I tried again and on the 4th attempt it read the entire disc...I assume it is a sensitive disc!

For my future reference, out of curiosity...where would it put the TGZ file, would I need to enable debug mode?...and would we email it to the support address or post it here?

Cheers.

If you have debug mode on, the info window will tell you where the LOG is being written. This will usually be where your system puts temporary files.

As for the .TGZ file, MakeMKV uses the location specified in Preferences->General, MakeMKV Data Directory. This is where MakeMKV will store and expect to find files. If you create any custom profiles, put them in that directory. If you manually download a file, put it in that director. It should be somewhere that a non-privileged user can write to and read from.
