Little problem dvd fab says firmware is not good, cause i think dvd fab uses de firmware 3.00 and detect that i have 3.11 can work normally with dvd fab with the 3.11mk version or need to do the downgrade with the dvdfab downgrader?

You can also downgrade to 3.00 DE-Firmware.

Only read blurays at 8mb/s i think i gonna downgrade to try, edit: in al, firmware's read so slow tu dump 1 bluray 1:30 hour and 4k even more wtf happening : C

Hi all, new to the world of Blu-Ray ripping. I bought a WH14NS40 drive recently and it came with 1.05. It is SVCNS50 so I should be able to flash it to fix the sleep bug.

But I'm confused as to which BIN files to flash for my device

I know I shouldn't be flashing WH16NS40 firmware because that's a different device altogether... right?
In this case, does older = better?

EDIT: Turns out you should be flashing the WH16NS60 (not NS40) firmware, even if you have the WH14NS40. It's the only way to stop the sleep bug because that's the firmware that will resolve it (the WH14 firmware does not resolve this)

Not Trying to piggyback off this But I believe I am having the same issue. I have the same drive, when I try and flash it I want to make sure I have the correct firmware and don't brick my drive.


Are there concerns with me being on 1.02 and it being encrypted or is this too new of a flash?

LG 1.04+ / BU40N 1.03 / Asus 3.10+ and similar
The newer OEM firmwares cannot be flashed easily due to the additional downgrade checks implemented by the drive/firmware manufacturer. If your drive has one of these firmwares, and there is no MK version of the same firmware/drive model or higher number, you will have to sidegrade to Asus 3.10MK (for compatible ASUS 5.25 drives ONLY) or (LG WH16NS60 1.02MK for compatible LG 5.25) or (BU40N 1.03MK LG Slim drives ONLY) respectively. (Note: MK firmware is available for firmware versions mentioned above.) Keeping the flashing of firmware in these scenarios within their respective family of drives/firmware (e.g ASUS firmware for ASUS drives and LG firmware for LG drives) at this stage of flashing. Then afterwards if that initial flash is successful you can move to different firmware respectively if you would like a different and compatible firmware version for the drive in question.

As previously stated in this guide. DO NOT crossflash between ASUS and LG firmware for slim drives like the LG BU40N for example. It will brick your drive. You’ve now been warned twice within this guide regarding this.

Yes, BP60NB10 1.02 is encrypted. What you should do is flash to BP60NB10 1.02-MK (with "enc?" checked), then flash to BP60NB10 1.00-MK.

I tried flashing my WH16NS60 but got error - error - error - tried to reinstall .net and everything.. but the problem was that a disc was in the drive.

When I removed the disc everything worked flawless. Perhaps "disc in drive" error should be handled better? Like ejecting the disc... instead of cryptic .net error.

When trying to update my drive for the first time I am getting the error in the attached file. I can dump the firmware. I've tried with and without enc enabled.

I joined just to reply to this message. I had the exact same error, I closed the drive try and boom it worked.

Thanks, drive is now flashed with v1.0 unencrypted firmware and I'm ripping a disc now.

I have a BH16NS40 (Svc: NS51) with Original v1.05

I flashed to BH16NS40-NS50-1.05 MK
Did a test and flashed like recommended to WH16NS60-1.02 MK

Tested drive again and get now plenty of "hash check failed" error

Could the second flash be the reason? Which firmware I should aim for?

Dis- and re-connected drive. Works now.

UPDATE - 26/09/2021:
The latest version of the SDFtool Flasher (v1.2.1) will automatically check for both the MT1959 Drive Platform and Encrypted Firmware. It also removes the requirement for .net framework as .net 6.0 is built in to the executable.
