Can I play/rip PAL format on PC?

Hi all, I've just joined the forum to ask this,

I'm looking at buying a Blu-ray box set of a TV show that was only released in PAL format, encoded 1080i resolution and at 25 FPS. Despite this, it still says the discs are region free. I was just wondering if anybody knows if I'll still be able to play the discs on my PC, or at the very least, rip the files with MakeMKV to watch them?

Windows 10 PC, LG WH14NS40 Blu-ray drive. I'm American so I've never encountered PAL format discs before.
