One file from 2 discs

If I want to rip a movie that comes on 2 disks because it doesn't fit on one, how can I make one file from the two parts on the two disks??

MakeMKV isn't going to do this for you, but there are tools to do it. A search for "LOTR merge" will find a number of topics here and elsewhere about it, in fact.

Standard tools involve mkvmerge from mkvtoolnix, which will allow you to append the MKV files. Main issue is with chapter markers, which can be a pain.
