Rick and Morty Season 1 Rip Errors

Post by kingsapo » Wed Jul 19, 2017 7:45 pm

Hi, I'm having some issues ripping Rick and Morty season 1. Most of the titles rip just fine, but those that can't rip are a bit inconsistent; it's always either track 7 or 8, plus track 11, which seems to be a combination of all episodes on the disc. This is the second disc I've tried, and I'm getting the same results on both.

When the program gets to these bad titles, it outputs the debug codes

Code: Select all

Code 45048000 at }K_Q[.j|Xm')P@hZll":213134170
and

Code: Select all

Code 0 at H42=at>$=j0#0bN4?o\u]:29399197
I'm not sure what the first is, but from the research I've done code 0 seems to indicate a write error. The drive I'm writing to has plenty of free space, and it's the same directory I've ripped other titles to. I'm fairly confident the blu-ray drive is good too, since I ripped several other titles after this just fine.

When I first open the disc, either from a backup made with MakeMKV or the physical disc, I also get these debug codes:

Code: Select all

DEBUG: Code 0 at [f]t,%z;Tj[R.6:121262164
DEBUG: Code 0 at ]i,G+Krm%Fe3yV` :29399611
DEBUG: Code 2147483648 at nZw`nL[PA6p|d/S&:121265315
Then, just before failing, there is the line:

Code: Select all

LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error in p->FetchFrames(1,false)
What's interesting is if I disable subtitles on the failed tracks the rip is successful, which makes me think that may be the issue. I have tried ripping from the disc, from a backup made with MakeMKV, and from a direct copy/paste of the files from the disc onto my drive, the latter requiring a KEYDB.cfg file I found online.

I've uploaded a full log from this session as well as a zip containing the disc's CLPI files to https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing, in case either are of any use. Please let me know if there is any other info I can provide or anything I can do to help. Thank you!

I am having the same issue. I did not know the subtitles were the issue. I wonder if that can be ripped out separately somehow. I would guess that subtitles extraction is pretty simple.

Anyways I have tried different drives and OS's and even a friend copy of the disc that had not even been opened, so the fact that someone else also has the same issue appears to be a bug with reading the subtitles. My logging is below with the same problem.

I can encode everything without issue except for t07.mkv. I had a previous version that ripped it fine but I'm now re-encoding my library in H.265 and went to re-rip it and getting the error.

Code: Select all

Saving 1 titles into directory /Users/<username>/To Be Encoded
DEBUG: Code 45048000 at F>2=us{6#iid7qj$y_z:121265844
DEBUG: Code 0 at qI54(%00j]WY5IAeZZPH-:29399197
DEBUG: Code 0 at qI54(%00j]WY5IAeZZPH-:29399197
LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: Error while reading input
Failed to save title 7 to file /Users/<username>/To Be Encoded/Rick_and_Morty_Season_1_t07.mkv
0 titles saved, 1 failed
I was able to rip without subtitles fine as OP, I then tried to rip just the subtitles (non-forced) and same exact error.

I got the same error trying to rip the subtitles. Any one found a fix?

Yep, same here. If I deselect the subtitles, the video and audio rip fine. (Thanks for the subtitles hint.)

Mike, if I can help with any debug, let me know.

May 31, 2018 — anyway, a year or so ago I was able to rip Rick and Morty Season 1 Blu-ray with MakeMKV for my ... What errors are you getting in the log?
