MakeMKV does not return errors although the result is corrupt

I ripped a Blu-Ray and while playing the MKV I found one position where the video juddered.

So I ripped it again.

I extracted the video stream with MKVExtract and compared the checksums. Both were identical:

After that I cleaned the disc (which looked clean) and ripped and compared the checksums again and now its different:

In addition the juddering is gone.

Isn't MakeMKV able to catch ECC errors of the drive (as the logs didn't contain any)?
