U.S.A Retail Version Works Fine

Hey everyone,

I got the RB version in US (Minnesota) but my segment count is only 7 for all available options. 00535.mpls shows as this:

Anyone else have this? I'm going to do a full backup instead and check back to see if anyone has tried. I'll also try 535 from the backup when I can just to check.

The RB one for worked fine, it was track 106, but it had the same segment map. I've since watched it and it was fine.

Just a reminder to reference the playlist (mpls) and the segment map (list of m2ts files) when you’re discussing the correct playlists.

The t # (“track”/title number) in the MKV filename, if you don’t change MakeMKV’s default file naming, is an “arbitrary“ number assigned by MakeMKV based on the prioritization order in which it ingested the playlists and m2ts files. This order can change based on settings such as minimum title length or in future versions of MakeMKV if Mike changes how the prioritization logic works.

It looks like 504 and 501 are flipped for these 2 segments. So, I am confused as to which one is correct.

I've found that "FPL_MainFeature" is not always correct, which is confusing because I thought that it came from the disc's internal JavaScript.

Your 535 seems to match what others have posted.

You could do a disc backup (with the decrypt video box checked) and then watch the two m2ts segments in question, to see which ordering is correct.

Hi Steve,

I got all of the same info, as you, for 00535.mpls, except mine is 4K UHD. Mine is US Retail (Walmart). Are you also doing 4K?

I ripped it, but when playing, I noticed (at least) the first 2 segments were out of order. Perhaps the first segment should be 505. So, at least, for 4K UHD, 00535.mpls is not the right one.

Did you come up with a different final result? (Or anyone else?)

For the Canada retail Blu-ray (in combo pack with 4K, UPC 191329204429), MakeMKV identifies 00535.mpls as "FPL_MainFeature" but it's clearly wrong, the first segment 502 is in the middle of the movie.

DVDFab / BDInfo identifies playlist 00422.mpls, however this one is also clearly wrong since it includes the copyright segment 2929.

Playlist obfuscation, how I hate you.
