I hope this helps someone. I had the same error and it wouldn't find my dvd drive, so I reinstalled using the "Run as Administrator" option and everything appears to be working just fine for me now.

I am running 2008 Small Business Server x64 on a dual xeon 3.2ghz with 6 gig ram.

On my Vista 64bit system, after exiting the program and then after a second or two more, I receive the same error message. It appears to be harmless...

I'm getting the same fatal error message at exit. I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium, 32-bit.

I also discovered I could not select ripped DVDs on my hard drive to convert to mkv. Using the MakeMKV file menu option pulls up a Windows Explorer window that shows NO FILES under any ripped dvd folder. This was true no matter which filter was selected. However, when I opened Windows Explorer directly the files were clearly there.

The Windows Explorer that opens up from the 1.6.4 file menu also has the Files and Folders Option greyed out, so you can't force it to show hidden files.

Yesterday I uninstalled 1.6.4 and re-installed 1.6.3. The inability to show or select any ripped DVD files continued. This evening I tried again and now .IFO files will show.

Addendum to my earlier post:

Tried again today - back to the problem where opening file menu doesn't show any files to select to convert to mkv.

Ditto here. WinXP. Doesn't seem to do it if I let it "rest" a while before shutting down with no disc in the drive.

Definitely something new. MakeMKV has previously been rock solid for me.

Confirmed as a "harmless" error, will be fixed very soon.
