The rip speed has increased about 30% for me as well.

Re: makemkv
Hi, I agree, I've just downgraded to 1.6.3 as I wasn't able to get anything about 1X where I was getting over 10X previously.
In contrast, I now have dual drives ripping at 4.9X at the same time on 1.6.3.
There was nothing obvious in the task manager even looking at consumed memory, IO reads/writes etc.
Running on XP (32) with a core 2 quad EE and a combination of dvd and bd drives.
Great product, keep it up

Re: 1.6.4 too slow on my pc
Although I never did any benchmarks with 1.6.3, it does seem to me that 1.6.4 is MUCH slower than 1.6.3.

Do you have any UDF driver installed? If yes, what is the driver name?spinnybarr wrote:Running on XP (32) with a core 2 quad EE and a combination of dvd and bd drives.

Re: makemkv 1.6.4 too slow than 1.6.3
I ran some rips yesterday with 1.6.4 and encountered a high failed to save rate. A few DVDs failed to save any of the files according to MakeMKV, but oddly, there were actual video files in the save directory and I was able to play them form start to finish. So... Why did MakeMKV say that they all failed to save? They obviously did save.
As a test, I quit 1.6.4 and tried the same DVD on 1.6.3 and everything completed normally and appeared to complete the process considerably faster.
I used one of our other machines for this test:
27" iMAC Quad Core i5 with built-in Superdrive

Where can I download 1.6.3? I'm having failed rip problems with 1.6.4
Re: makemkv 1.6.4 too slow than 1.6.3
I just ran a DVD test on 1.6.3 and 1.6.4. 1.6.3 has a 3X faster read-rate than 1.6.4. I've gone back to 1.6.3 for now.

Re: makemkv
I use AnyDVD because I have a mix of Region 1 & Region 2 disks, Im going to guess that I don't have a specific UDF driver installed over and above this software layer.mike admin wrote:Do you have any UDF driver installed? I've been using AnyDVD throughout the various versions and 1.6.4 was the first version of your software which presented slowdowns.
thanks

Re: makemkv 1.6.4 too slow than 1.6.3
As I am experiencing the same problem since the upgrade. I intend to use 1.6.3 which I have a set-up program for. As I am only running the free version (and I don't know if it makes any difference) I am unable to use the previous version. This is because, after I install and run it. The message of "a newer version is available, register or download newer version" is prompted and shuts down my application.
Is there a way that I can install and keep the programme and prevent it closing down on that promp. Cheers.
