ASUS BW-16D1HT not recognizing BDs / UHDs

Hello all,
I've had an ASUS BW-16D1HT (firmware 3.01) that had been working fine with BDs & UHDs up thru January. I was able to backup the 4K UHD of Beastmaster a few months ago just fine. Now when I insert a BD or UHD, MakeMKV reports "No Disc Inserted".

Has anyone else run into this & been able to resolve?

I'm on MacOS 10.14.6.

yeah the laser dies alot on those
you can try taking it apart and cleaning the lens but i dont think that will fix it

Hey Billy - thanks for the quick reply!
I should have mentioned that it's still reading DVDs. Is there a separate laser for DVDs, or can the laser fail to a point where it's reading DVDs, but not Blu-rays?

Yes 2 different lasers
