On the disk, there's 3 English subtitles accessible through the menus. Normal, SDH, and commentary. Technically, there's a 4th one because there are some forced subtitle scenes when someone speaks a foreign language. But that's obviously not accessible in the menus.
In MakeMKV, there's 4 (8 if you include "forced only") English subtitles. If you check 8, you'll end up with 6 because 2 of the "forced only" are empty and removed.
After checking all 6 in VLC, the first 3 are normal, forced, and SDH. The last 3 are duplicate normal, forced, and SDH. None contain the commentary.
I can simply remove the duplicates. But I can't figure out how to get the commentary. Does anyone have any clues on what would cause this issue?

I don't have this particular disc, but my advice would be:
- Check for alternate playlists
- Check the original m2ts files

Re: Duplicate and missing subtitles from Inside Job
Thanks for the suggestion. I used Process Monitor with PowerDVD to identify the m2ts and mpls. I saw the playlist with the m2ts, but the mpls didn't match. When I checked the BDMV folder and played the mpls that MakeMKV doesn't see, there's also 6 subtitles, but it contains one with the commentary.
I was able to get the commentary subtitles then.
Re: Duplicate and missing subtitles from Inside Job
this is a bug I've mentioned multiple times before. MakeMKV is many times attempting to be too smart for its own good and filters out playlists it thinks are duplicates when they really arent. I really want a power use mode that says "don't do any filtering"

It's usually enough to check the BDMV > Stream folder for the biggest m2ts to find the right sub. BDInfo could help identifying the right playlist.DWreck1995 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 04, 2021 4:49 amI used Process Monitor with PowerDVD to identify the m2ts and mpls.
