[Whoops]

I am using 1.15.1 and trying to rip a DVD and the rip fails at the end of the process every time. I am able to use DVD Decrypter to make an ISO that tests as valid upon completion and when I mount the ISO I am able to watch the title from start to finish with no audio sync or visual errors that I can see. The source DVD also plays just fine and has a flawless surface with no oils, dust or scratches. Ripping to a different directory or changing the names of the resulting files has no impact. Turning on debug shows the following.

When I try to enable *TESTDUMP*, it creates a 298kb TGZ file and then MakeMKV displays an error message that states "Fatal error occured, program will now exit." with the option to hit OK. Once you hit OK the program crashes to the desktop.

EDIT: I also tried ripping from the mounted ISO and the same error happens.

I encountered this same error trying to rip another DVD. I searched and found a reference to this error in a post from about 2 years ago. It was suggested rolling back to version 1.12.2 may fix the issue. I am happy to report that this worked and I was able to rip this disc.

This was with version 1.15.1. I have not tried the update (1.15.2) that was just released. I will try that to see if it still has the issue if I get a chance. Otherwise you might have to try the old version.

Edit: I just tried 1.15.2 on my problem DVD, and the error still occurs:

I got this same error. I thought it might be something with the DVD writer I was using and tried to change the order of the titles I was recording to the DVD but always targeted the same title. I have a copy of version 1.12.2 but would need to have an activation code to be able to use that version. Can anyone give me the code for version 1.12.2?

A version from July of 2018 probably won't accept a current beta key. A permanent key would work, but you're on your own trying to get the beta key to work.

LIBMKV_TRACE: Exception: MKV_ASSERT: TimecodeDelay >= int16(0x8000) && TimecodeDelay <= int16(0x7FFF)

I found this thread and looked at several others, but couldn't find a fix. The disk was clean and I haven't had any issues like this before or after trying this one title.

Note, I tried without success on the previous version of MakeMKV and then upgraded to the new beta release v1.16.1 today (March 13th), but it still failed.

Then I decided to deselect the subtitles and give it another try. It worked! Apparently there was an issue with that lossy subtitle track, which was:
Subtitles CC -> Text English (Lossy conversion)

Posting just in case it helps someone else.

MacChickenSamich, THANK You! that worked. I got a Jerry Lewis collection for my Mother's Birthday and spent hours trying to get it to rip and as soon as I removed the Lossy Subtitles it just worked! Thank you for posting your solution!

Add another disc to this error list: Disc 3 from Ken Burns Jazz boxset (so far) directly from PBS.
Discs 1 & 2 ripped fine using manual mode which I have learned is the only way to go on Mr. Burn's work.
Disc 3: 4 attempts, 2 manual, 2 automated with lots of cleaning in between.
I knew I had read about this error but I couldn't seem to find it in the search.
7 more DVDs to go in this set should go much quicker without the "CC".
