MKV DoVi MEL or FEL details

Hi All,

Really sorry but new to all this!

Have just burned my 13 Hours UHD disk to MKV file to play on a Dune 4k pro II player - it is a FEL title and i want to know if i have burned a FEL file. Details below - i can see dvhe.07.06 but not sure if the Main 10@L5.1 tells you there is an enhancement layer and whether that is FEL or MEL?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

the only way , i have found to know , is to reload the mkv file produced by makemkv with makemkv , upon expanding the video track you will see fel or mel , mediainfo is just generic i think and doesnt tell u shit about FEL or MEL

For those stumbling upon this post, you can use the makemkvcon cli program to determine if an .mkv file has an MEL or FEL enhancement layer. makemkvcon is included with the MakeMKV application and found in the MakeMKV application directory. An example on MacOS:
