nice! that's definitely promising. hopefully @RESET_9999 or @Manixx can get their hands on one soon to do some in depth comparisons
Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is it just Ugoos who utilize the newest AmLogic chipset that can perfect Dolby Vision decoding with FEL? (Ignoring Blu-Ray players)
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Why just "DV FEL", does the Ugoos have any issues with other media formats outside of DV FEL? Just curious since i'm looking for a MP that playbacks most things with as good quality as possible.NiCE77 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 8:50 amI have the Shield 2019 Pro, FireTV 4k Stick, Zidoo Z9X, Apple TV 4K, Minix U22-XJ, X96 Max+ with CoreELEC and the Ugoos AM6 PlusDaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 26, 2021 6:06 amSo I have the Chinoppo, 2 Shield 2019 Pro, 4K firestick, Zidoo Z9X, had the Google thing with the long name and sold it because it can’t do lossless audio, what do I buy next, is this Ugog a winner?
For DV FEL, the Ugoos is the best choice.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
The Ugoos as all Amlogic, only with CoreELEC is perfect for media playback. You can use with dual boot. DV playback is not working with CoreELEC now, because no 64 bit dovi.ko module.XTrojan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 3:56 amWhy just "DV FEL", does the Ugoos have any issues with other media formats outside of DV FEL? Anroid Kodi 19 DV build seems to play all my other media including DV MEL mkv perfectly so just needs the FEL sorting and then in my opinion its perfect.XTrojan wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 3:56 amWhy just "DV FEL", does the Ugoos have any issues with other media formats outside of DV FEL? Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Is FEL even confirmed in upcoming Kodi 19 updates though? Kind of annoying that one would need to switch constantly. Also I noticed that the Ugoos is not in my country, but the Minix NEO U22-XJ is which uses the same chipset as the Ugoos, anyone can confirm if the Minix is able to do flawless DV with FEL?mattmarsden wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 7:49 amAnroid Kodi 19 DV build seems to play all my other media including DV MEL mkv perfectly so just needs the FEL sorting and then in my opinion its perfect.

You don't need to switch, just use the Android Kodi 19 DV build to play everything - it works fine. I've actually got a Minix U22 sitting in front of me that I'm going to test today so I'll let you know shortly how well it works.

I've also noticed if you completley quit Kodi and and restart it and play a FEL mkv straight away they play a lot better. Hopefully the build will be refined soon.

OK, Minix U22 on latest firmware does not work properly with the Kodi DV build, it will only allows selection of resolution 1920x1080p 60hz. I believe it can be flashed with the Ugoos firmware but I havn't tried that.

With my AndroidTV, the FEL/MEL mkv playback is a lottery. DV MKV WEB-DLs playback is fine though

I’ve searched high and low for the Star Wars Dolby Vision, but couldn’t find it on any tracker I know of. Any other tips? (I know it’s been a while but any help would be much appreciated )RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 12:51 pmThere are 3 single layer DV profile 05.06 web-dl releases circulating on the web.tr000 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 3:37 amThis is very old but where did you find a DV Web-DL? Stranger things S03
Mandalorian S01
Star Wars New Hope (which I successfully added a trueHD Atmos track)
the last two can be found on one of the most known public torrent websites. ST can be found on a Russian tracker.

Hi , do you have more information on cross flashing the U22, is it exactly the same hardware / Memory?mattmarsden wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:12 amOK, Minix U22 on latest firmware does not work properly with the Kodi DV build, it will only allows selection of resolution 1920x1080p 60hz. The original Ugoos fw is not working, you need to use this version: https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtop ... y103863672DaMacFunkin wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 9:41 pmHi , do you have more information on cross flashing the U22, is it exactly the same hardware / Memory?mattmarsden wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 11:12 amOK, Minix U22 on latest firmware does not work properly with the Kodi DV build, it will only allows selection of resolution 1920x1080p 60hz. How can we tell Minix is processing the colors correctly and plays the second HEVC stream with EL layer like a regular Blu-Ray player? For a long time, we thought the same thing with Shield, but Shield discards the ELmattmarsden wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:03 amYou don't need to switch, just use the Android Kodi 19 DV build to play everything - it works fine. I don't know about the Minix specifically, but there is proof for the Ugoos AM6 Plus, which uses the same S922X-J SoC: 1 2.
In theory, these AMLogic chipsets have hardware support for FEL processing.
