So I have the Chinoppo, 2 Shield 2019 Pro, 4K firestick, Zidoo Z9X, had the Google thing with the long name and sold it because it can’t do lossless audio, what do I buy next, is this Ugog a winner?

I have the Shield 2019 Pro, FireTV 4k Stick, Zidoo Z9X, Apple TV 4K, Minix U22-XJ, X96 Max+ with CoreELEC and the Ugoos AM6 Plus
For DV FEL, the Ugoos is the best choice.

Has it been confirmed that the FEL is actually being used with the Ugoos? Picture comparisons somewhere?

Ah it looks the v0.3.7 is the latest firmware that was ported over, is this enough for FEL playback or do you need one of the newer ones? And have you tried it yourself? Only reason I’m asking is because the minix looks Iike it’s much easier to get here in the states

So, STDL playback is only stable in Plex on Ugoos, but only Kodi will do HD audio?

Yes. But in kodi they will definitely be improved.

Whats your workflow for creating STDL ts files? Do you go via Makemkv?

No, demux with tsmuxer -> making stdl hevc with yusesope's tool -> remux with dolby's mp4muxer -> remux to ts with tsmuxer
It might work like this: demux with tsmuxer -> making stdl hevc with yusesope's tool -> remux hevc to ts with tsmuxer

So over on the Kodi thread Fandangos isn’t aware how it is working and seem to believe that Ugoos have their own fork.
Do Ugoos have their own fork?
Or is going to be the case that Fandangos or someone else will need to get the Ugoos and refine the current process?

No the Ugoos is using the Kodi DV build that is being geared for the Shield so it will need refining further, but worth it I think as its the only device that will do FEL with HD audio.

The Ugoos has no problem with HD audio at the moment when you launch Kodi out of Android? Last I heard the amlogic soc had some sort of issue where you can only get HD audio out of CoreELEC Kodi.

The Ugoos as all Amlogic, only with CoreELEC is perfect for media playback. You can use with dual boot. DV playback is not working with CoreELEC now, because no 64 bit dovi.ko module.

Anroid Kodi 19 DV build seems to play all my other media including DV MEL mkv perfectly so just needs the FEL sorting and then in my opinion its perfect.

Is FEL even confirmed in upcoming Kodi 19 updates though? Kind of annoying that one would need to switch constantly. Also I noticed that the Ugoos is not in my country, but the Minix NEO U22-XJ is which uses the same chipset as the Ugoos, anyone can confirm if the Minix is able to do flawless DV with FEL?

You don't need to switch, just use the Android Kodi 19 DV build to play everything - it works fine. I've actually got a Minix U22 sitting in front of me that I'm going to test today so I'll let you know shortly how well it works.

I've also noticed if you completley quit Kodi and and restart it and play a FEL mkv straight away they play a lot better. Hopefully the build will be refined soon.

OK, Minix U22 on latest firmware does not work properly with the Kodi DV build, it will only allows selection of resolution 1920x1080p 60hz. I believe it can be flashed with the Ugoos firmware but I havn't tried that.
