Identify the correct mpls file, either on the interweb or by opening the disk with makemkv.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 2:33 amI notice that some films are divided into multiple m2ts files. What should we do in that case? What's the good way to identify which m2ts files are part of the film? And then we just drag all those files into tsmuxer and click m2ts muxing?RESET_9999 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:20 pmDV is supported only in TS / M2TS / MP4 and bluray disc on the x700...
no BDMV support via USB
Drag that mpls file into tsmuxer, job done.

Get the Oppo clone and rip to iso or BDMV.morbius wrote: ↑Wed Jan 27, 2021 9:24 pmthanks for clarifying. And it looks like I'll be stuck with selecting a forced/default sub track manually? So many films have these. In any event, it will be useful for me to have a DV-capable disc player to give me a reference for playback from other sources.
Subtitles will work as if you was playing the disk.
You can also use external subs with the .forced flag if you want to add subtitles to a title.

My X700 just arrived. I'm connected to my network files via the Kodi UPnP shared library service. All my mkv's show, but my test .ts/.m2ts file does not. Any ideas?
Tried the AVCHD\BDMV folder approach on USB, did not work.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
if i read the last pages, it seems to be that mkv lost the battle against dolby vision. am i right? there is no right way to play DV-files correctly with mkv?

the Firestick TV does it right but no FEL / lossless audio support.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
It's already known that the oppos (plus cambridge uhd) and its clone deliver picture perfect dolby vision.lexyz wrote:Driveless chinese oppo clone named M9702 or similar could be more interesting compared to X800M2

mkv didn't lose the battle with DV, quite the opposite actually. It's certainly no fault of the container that no devices can currently play them to their full potential. The standard has been established, and it's now just up to the hardware/software to catch up.

What's the benefit of playing bdmv folder instead of the m2ts file?

Someone mentioned here that with the x700, some long movies played via usb method can't be fast forwarded. Does it mean if we accidentally exit the movie midway, we have to watch again from the beginning? That sounds rough.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Can you please link or tell me how to do that ? New to all this. ThanksRESET_9999 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 28, 2021 4:56 pmthe Firestick TV does it right but no FEL / lossless audio support.
Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
Hello everyone, sorry to bother you but I need your help. I spent the last weeks reading pages on pages, but I still have some doubts
This in my situation:
Room1: Oled LG E8
Room2: Shield Pro, Sony X800M2, HDFury Vertex2, Denon AVR, Epson TW9400
Right now I'm using MakeMKV to rip BD with Dolby Vision and without, store on nas, and watch them with Plex on LG E8 and Plex on Shield.
Tomorrow i'll receive the Sony X800M2 and from what I red, it looks like I can have better quality using this than using the Shield.
a- Am I correct or because my vpr in not DV and use the LLDV hack, nothing will change for me?
Talking about rips:
b- is there an easy way to rip BD with DV and play them with Oled LG E8 internal player? (Plex app on LG doesn't support mkv with DV)
c- when I'll use the drag and drop mpls tsmuxer method for ripping BD and play them on Sony X800M2, the final m2ts file, need to have only 1 video track or 2 is the right way?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english. I can speak it, but writing is a whole other story.

chapter support, forced flags for subs...deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 9:36 am

but even if I had the oppo i would still remux my file to TS/M2TS. I don't really care about chapters and forced subs are rare unless you don't watch the movies in English. Most of the time, forced English subs are hardcoded.
yep, it happened to me in one of the Lord of the rings.deadchip12 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 9:42 amDoes it mean if we accidentally exit the movie midway, we have to watch again from the beginning? That sounds rough.

Forced subs are actually quite common in my experience. Just for starters, quite a few of the Marvel films. Sometimes they feature when you may not expect, like the scene early in Spiderman Homecoming where there are just two lines of Italian dialogue in the sandwich shop, but the subs are in a track. I could list loads of mainstream films that do not hardcode the forced subs.

Re: Dolby Vision now possible through MP4 Mux.
so if I understand correctly, with the x700 playing the m2ts file via usb, the subs for those Italian lines will not appear because they are not hardcoded? Hmm that could be troublesome... I remember in The Inglorious Bastards for example, there are lot of hardcoded subs for non-English lines. Not sure if those are hardcoded or not.morbius wrote: ↑Fri Jan 29, 2021 1:52 pmForced subs are actually quite common in my experience. Just for starters, quite a few of the Marvel films. Will using external subs help?
