Pardon my ignorance, but where is the "MakeMKV data directory" located in LinuxMint?

Getting the "Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed" error with 1.15.4
Option for MakeMKV to connect to internet is enabled
Tried changing DNS to Google, no luck
Disabled firewall, and antivirus, no luck

I downloaded the sdf.bin and placed it in the data directory, but the file is not getting ingested by MakeMKV on launch. Can anyone please advise why the sdf.bin is not imported? The modify date on _private_data.tar is not getting updated

Only REALLY OLD versions or an old (as in months old) SDF file would mention the .tk domain.

hkdata.fairuse.org is the current host name, and it should resolve to an IP that is in the Russian Federation. A number of servers will not resolve any domain in fairuse.org (cloudflare being one of them, even though they are used for the forum), and any geoblock you may have on the RF could get in the way.

Other threads have fairuse.org as the current location for the keys and appear to have been able to access it recently. Is the server down right now for anyone else? I just discovered this community and maybe its just bad luck the server happens to be down now. I am backing up a normal BD now so I know that works, but UHD has not been so lucky.

It is possible that hkdata.fairuse.org is off-line right now. It resolves to 91.224.23.225 right now, and I'm showing a 10% packet loss on pings to it. Chrome says the connection is being refused.

I'm very new to all of this but I was trying to curl http://hkdata.fairuse.org/ and I'm getting "connection refused" immediately. MakeMKV output is "Automatic HK downloading is disabled or failed." and I have white-listed it in Windows firewall and DNS works (resolves to 91.224.23.225). I suspect the server is down?

Does anyone have a recently updated "_private_data.tar" file they could kindly post up? I am having the same issue as others where I get a failure with downloading HK. Thanks!

I am able to resolve hkdata.fairuse.org but I am unable to get a response from the http server.

I checked a few services that do DNS traces and/or check access from globally distributed nodes to verify which regions can or cannot access.
The domain appears to be offline across the board.

Same issue here, different disc though. I've had no issues with this in the past.

If you navigate (using a web browser) to hkdata.fairuse.org, you'll see a message saying "hosting disabled" (in Russian). This means that the issue is not on your side or mine - it's on the host that holds the HK data. There's nothing we can do about it except wait for it to be resolved.

This is a one time kinda thing i dont know if these work on mac windows linux but here is the latest windows version as of the day of this post.
It has updated sdf and hashedkeys in this
delete your privatedata.tar and replace it with this one

Was having this issue with Avengers: End Game 4K blu ray. Thanks Billycar11 for this privatedata.tar file. I dropped it in and it worked just perfect after that.
