The disk looks perfectly fine, except from my research there are some manufacturing defects on the inner ring that look like scratches/refraction. From what I read that won't effect reading of data as there is no data on the inner ring. I have cleaned it with a microfiber cloth. I was able to back it up but after the backup I haven't been able to make the mkv. Is this disc dead or is this a disk drive problem? It occurs at a similar point in time each time I try the rip (~25gig ripped).
I have a WH16NS40-NS50 with WH16NS60 firmware 1.03MK. My speed settings are: B1=99;B2=99;U1=99;U2=99
I also run into the disk drive just disappearing from my system until I restart, is this the sleep bug? Or is the drive going bad (drive is brand new from amazon)? Are there any stress tests I could do to identify if it is a disk drive hardware issue? Can disk drives overheat (due to running at faster than advertised speeds)? I just started getting into this this past weekend so I am still trying to understand what problems cause what.
Forrest Gump UHD errors?
