Thanks to all the wonderful experts here, I have been ripping 4K UHD disks with my LG and Asus libredrives for years now.
Having conquered that challenge, I am now interested to use an Official UHD drive such as the LG WH16NS60 for 4K disc playback.
However, the intention is to connect it to my Zidoo Z9x media player (https://www.zidoo.tv/Product/index/mode ... 3D%3D.html) that has the requisite SATA port.
Just curious if anyone has tried this, or is willing to do so if similar equipment are available?
I tried connecting my existing UHD friendly drives but could only play blu ray discs exactly as a standalone blu ray player would. Loading 4K discs causes lots of disc reading but no playback of the disc menu...
Thanks all!
Official UHD drives for media tanks 4k playback?
Re: Official UHD drives for media tanks 4k playback?
Is that what it's SATA port is for? To plug in a blu ray drive and what, rip directly to it? Should be interesting. You'll definitely want to make sure you use downgraded drive, like the WH16NS60 running v1.00 firmware. If you need one hit me up!

Sorry I was not clear. The aim is just to read the disc contents for playback as well as any standalone 4k blu ray player.
