Asus bw-16d1h-u external Uhd friendly?

Hello. I have an Asus BW-16D1H-U external bd reader. Is this one uhd friendly if i flash it? I can only see and read about the internal one

The BW-16D1H-U hardware is not UHD capable. Do not flash it.

That depends entirely on the internal drive you chose. There is master guide to selecting drives and flashing as needed at the top of the UHD Drives forum. The top of this forum has information on several vendors who sell already-flashed drives.

Yes i have read the list and the Asus BW-16D1HT/pro is the list. This is just to make me sure when i buy the reader

The -U does not have the same drive hardware inside it, though. It shares most of the same model number, but the hardware is different.

It would be nice if it did - I bought one early on in the UHD scramble, and ended up gifting it to a friend that didn't have a BD-capable drive. He really likes it, but he has no interest in UHD.

I have an ASUS BW-16D1HT that's been flashed to 3.10 MK firmware and it works well.
