Automatic SBC based Ripper

#1 Post by Bloodpilot » Tue Dec 29, 2020 1:36 pm

Hi there,
I’m planning on building a SBC based fully automatic ripper bot, based on an eight year old project (https://github.com/ajayre/JacktheRipperBot).
Deviating from the previously mentioned GitHub project I want to use a SBC (e.g. a Raspberry Pi) to control the positioning of the Blue ray as well as the ripping, but because MakeMKV is not available on ARM processors (or is it possible to run it in wine?) I’ll have to use a x86 based SBC.
Did someone already try that?

There has been talk of an ARM version of MakeMKV.

I use an ODROID H2+ for my daily driver and it works fine with USB DVD rips. I also have an atomic pi, but have not tried it since it is flaky for me.

I was thinking about using an Rock Pi X as it has the same layout as a Raspberry Pi 4, so I can replace it easy in the future.
