I only did one quick test, but I think you may be right. As I had deleted the files I used to test before, I created two new 1GB split clips and did the following:
lotr-split1gb - Dolby Vision turned off on the x700 - the file plays perfectly and finishes at the correct time. It then automatically started
to play the second split file perfectly.
lotr-split1gb - Dolby Vision turned on, on the x700 - the file plays perfectly but behaves the same as before at the end. It continues increasing the duration while stuck on the last frame. I pressed stop and the duration stopped increasing but the player was still stuck on the last frame and unresponsive. I decided to wait and after a minute or so I pressed the stop and off button, the screen went black but the player's led was still on. After a few minutes I turned it off at the mains.
I also tested a cut clip again, the plan was to test the clip with Dolby Vision set to off and then on, on the x700 to see if it made a difference with the green overlay. This time the cut clip played fine with Dolby Vision turned on, I'm now wondering if I forgot to restart the player before playing the first cut clip, in which case that would be normal.
I just changed "Digital Music Enhancer" to off and now my AVR reports the signal as DTS-HD Master and sound as DTS-HD + Neural:X (ceiling speakers). Thank youRESET_9999 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 12:11 pmMy Denon AVR correctly plays/reports DTS-HD, not PCM. Not sure why it's different on your setup
Sorry for providing you with the wrong information @jayper, while researching before buying this player a few weeks ago I read lots of posts, I think I was thinking back to @RESET_9999 post's about having to convert DTS-HD to LPCM for muxing in mp4. Hopefully you are able to resolve the problem by changing a setting like I was.
