The x700's media player outputs DTS-HD as LPCM. If you click on the "Display" button on the x700's remote during playback it will list the audio format of the film. For DTS-HD it reports DTS-HD, the number of channels, the sampling rate and the current bit rate. My AVR reports the sound as PCM multi in and lists the correct number of channels being used.
My Denon AVR correctly plays/reports DTS-HD, not PCM. Not sure why it's different on your setup

No I didn’t notice anything like that, but then again I was trying it on an x800 which would have been completely ignoring the secondary Dolby vision track. I’ll try again when I get my x700 :D
I only did one quick test, but I think you may be right. As I had deleted the files I used to test before, I created two new 1GB split clips and did the following:

lotr-split1gb - Dolby Vision turned off on the x700 - the file plays perfectly and finishes at the correct time. It then automatically started
to play the second split file perfectly.

lotr-split1gb - Dolby Vision turned on, on the x700 - the file plays perfectly but behaves the same as before at the end. It continues increasing the duration while stuck on the last frame. I pressed stop and the duration stopped increasing but the player was still stuck on the last frame and unresponsive. I decided to wait and after a minute or so I pressed the stop and off button, the screen went black but the player's led was still on. After a few minutes I turned it off at the mains.

I also tested a cut clip again, the plan was to test the clip with Dolby Vision set to off and then on, on the x700 to see if it made a difference with the green overlay. This time the cut clip played fine with Dolby Vision turned on, I'm now wondering if I forgot to restart the player before playing the first cut clip, in which case that would be normal.

I just changed "Digital Music Enhancer" to off and now my AVR reports the signal as DTS-HD Master and sound as DTS-HD + Neural:X (ceiling speakers). Thank you :D

Sorry for providing you with the wrong information @jayper, while researching before buying this player a few weeks ago I read lots of posts, I think I was thinking back to @RESET_9999 post's about having to convert DTS-HD to LPCM for muxing in mp4. Hopefully you are able to resolve the problem by changing a setting like I was.

Thank you. The menu is different on CX and it doesn't even show the hdr details like it did in your pic (dolby vision profile under general section). Is it because I've connected my shield to my onkyo receiver instead of directly to my tv? I've watched many dolby vision mkv remuxes and I too feel like the picture doesn't look bright at all. HDR looks great though.
You have to highlight the word HDMI MODE.. https://i.imgur.com/nlTBDa3.jpg then select it.. it will change https://i.imgur.com/L9EdX60.jpg
Thank you :)

Sorry if this question has been answered but I just found this thread and have not read all 250+ pages.

I have a Sony X900f which supports Dolby Vision, but apparently that's only profile 5 and not 7 like most UHD discs. Is there a lossless way to get my TV to properly display DV profile 7 content?

Sadly not possible. XF90 plays properly only DoVi p5

XH90 is the only Sony TV plays DoVi 5, 7 MEL and 8

Boo. And there's no way to just lug my PC over and connect it directly and have it work either since there's no DoVi players for Windows that I know of

I have tried to create the Lord of the Rings with all the possible forms that are offered to me in the forum, the only one that worked was mp4.
With it I have Dolby Vision.

Just one more thing (if you are so kind to answer me):
Hevc1 and hevc2 can be merged directly from the system symbol to .mkv

If so, please send me the command. I'm desperate.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi, you don’t say what your playback device is?
TLOTR and The Hobbit are MEL so the easiest way to create Dolby Vision MKV is Makemkv.

Interestingly when I use:
MUX_AND_CONVERT_TO_MEL
or
MUX_AND_CONVERT_TO_PROFILE_81
and with tsMuxeR I convert it to .ts or .m2ts in Mediainfo no trace of Dolby Vision. And the TV opens it as HDR but not a trace of Dolby Vision.

Inside the LG menu.
The television model says:
OLED55B6V-Z
and at the end an interesting fact.
Dolby Vision 0.9.0

I also tried MakeMKV v1.15.3 but the TV won't open it.
Demomento only worked (opened it) with Dolby Vision in .mp4

Thanks for answering me.
I wait your answer.

I don't know if the problem will be the file size ... = (

you don't need a ts/mkv file if you play them in your LG B6. stick with the mp4muxer.

Your tv will not play DV from mkv.
