Hi there, a little bit offtopic but i dont know where to ask for this.
Ive been playing Dolby Vision MP4 files (dual track dual layer) for couple years in the past without any issue on my old LG C7 Tv (either from USB, DNLA or Plex for Webos app), they where recogniced, triggered the Dolby Vision logo and so on.
However i just noticed those files are no longer being recogniced by a new LG CX i bougth to replace my old C7.
Openning those files from an USB drive the TV do not recognice them (no valid file warning).
Opening those files from within Plex for WebOs app, Plex will transcode them into plain HDR.
Few Dolby Vision demos i could find on the internet (many links are down and/or files no longer available) only trigger HDR, not Dolby Vision (they are .m2ts dual track dual layer too).
LG CX Firmware 3.11.30 (lastest)
Plex for Webos (neither latest 5.xx nor previous 2.xx release)
Ive tried to read this 255 pages long post here https://www.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=18602 to find an answer but, well 255 pages a bit too much.
So id like to know if/why at some point LG decided to blocked those Dolby Vision MP4 files created with the mp4muxer (dual track dual layer), or if its just a CX series issue or if it is just my tv lol.
Any LG tv owner out there that still can play Dolby Vision MP4 files straigth on their tv?
What model?
Where from (usb, Plex webos app)
What firmware?
Did LG remove DV MP4 support?

Re: Did LG remove DV MP4 support?
God bless you, i was still reading page 35...
Ok, so LG removed dual-track/dual-layer support ... thats a big shit and im now regreting having sold my old C7 to buy a CX...
I just tried some single-track DV .MP4 file demos that still work (Profile 5.06 BL+RPU)
Sigle-track .MKV do not work however (Profiles 5.06/7.06/8.06 BL+EL+RPU) they play as normal HDR.
Do we have any option left to play DV backup files straigth? i mean without having to buy 3rd party devices like androidTV devices or special bule-ray players, is there any hope?
