Where does Source Information - Comment come from? Disc or MakeMKV

Post by PaulCB » Mon Nov 30, 2020 10:55 pm

My version of Ex Machina just got added after I submitted the tgz. I noticed that when I selected the disk the Comment says Hacksaw Ridge. Just curious as to whether that is just a MKV goof or if it a goof made on the disc itself which would be interesting.
Doesn't affect anything to my knowledge, just interesting.

Source information
Type: Blu-ray disc
Name: Ex Machina (English)
Comment: Hacksaw Ridge UHD NA

I ripped Days of Thunder recently. That disc was titled Top Gun, which was clearly a mistake by whoever authored the disc. Also, my copy of the 4K version of The Phantom Menace is misspelled to be The Phantom Meance. Again, that's a mistake from the 'studio'.

Sometimes MakeMKV will label various titles when it has had to navigate a BD+ menu and those labels will be in parenthesis after the title on the left side of the window. In that case it also shows up as a comment in the Title Info box on the right side.

I think what you're referring to, however, is the comment at the whole disc level, not at a particular title on the disc. I think that is info from the disc authors, not something generated by MakeMKV.
