Trouble Burning on WH16NS40 (MK 1.05)

#1 Post by hadzz » Mon Nov 30, 2020 5:25 pm

Recently got a new WH16NS40 that came with firmware 1.05 from the factory, had no trouble getting the MK firmware on it, but I have been running into errors writing to BD-R DL. I tried MK 1.03 and it could not write at all (invalid address right after writing the lead-in) and on 1.05 looks like it burns correctly but consistently the verify fails at the layer break. I tried the stock 1.02 and it burns fine (2 for 2) but I would like to have the newer firmware if possible.

Has anyone else run into this? Is it something that can be patched in the MK firmware?

Thanks!

Seriously, don't worry about having the latest firmware. It's not better at all. If the stock 1.02 is working, leave it at that.
Cheers :D

Thanks, I suppose I can stick with it. Was just looking to avoid any issues where running new hardware on an old firmware could cause.

The firmware is only a couple of years old and won't cause any issues with hardware. My BH16NS55 is still on the original 1.02 firmware and is still going strong after almost 3 years!
Cheers :D
