EDIT: Third time is apparently the charm - I was able to successfully use my optical drive with MakeMKV.
Hi.
New user to the forum and couldn't post this under the "optical drive" forums. This appears to be the only place I can post for the moment.
Anywho, does MKV not work with usb dvd drives? I have an LG portable dvd writer and just tried to use it on a DVD.
At the end of the entire process of whatever it was trying to do, it said "failed to open disc".
I tried looking through some other support topics and FAQ but didn't see usb drives addressed.
If this program doesn't work with USB then is there a work around or do I need to look for some other software? :-\ unfortunately not all laptops come with dvd drives anymore, which is kind of a pain.
Thank you in advance.

Re: USB DVD Drives
My drive is connected via USB and MakeMKV works just fine. Try some other discs. It might be that the one you tried is dirty.
