Fatal error

Excuse my ignorance, but if a file refuses to rip with the following error, is that a dodgy disc?
Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:L-EC UNCORRECTABLE ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/01018.m2ts' at offset '9905369088'
Thanks

Well, dodgy in that your drive can't read it right now. Often, cleaning it will help.

My regimen when this happens is to get out the Pledge furniture polish... spray the disk, rub it using a CLEAN finger (no grease or grit on it!) in using circular motions mainly across the disk surface, then wipe it off with a clean cotton or microfiber cloth. Small scratches will often be filled in enough to let the laser through, and fingerprints will be gone.

Thanks, read that in one of your previous posts, so had already tried the Pledge trick, and increasing the re-reads to 25. Looks like the disc is knackered, looks perfect, although I know that's no indicator!
