Version 1.8.12 Instantly Fails

I updated to version 1.8.12, and now when I click on the convert button, it instantly fails. I get no explanation code. I have tried a few different discs. I reinstalled version 1.8.11. Now everything is working again. I wanted to make someone aware of this.

Here's the link to download old MakeMKV versions: /download/old/.

Edit: It's only a problem ripping discs with LPCM audio as many other threads point out. I would just reinstall 1.8.11 unless a patch is released or until 1.8.13 comes out.

I only had the problem with the one disc. I was successfully able to rip three other BD and a DVD that same session without issue.

I'm having this exact problem. I'm actually really happy to see this post as I was beginning to think it was just me. I haven't tried downgrading yet, but I've been meaning to give that a try. I just wasn't sure if it would even work as I'm seeing numerous posts saying that 1.8.11 is too old to run. Glad to hear that it worked for you.

Three posts saying "it doesn't work". Not one offering any information that might be helpful.

Same here. Been using MakeMKV for a couple months without a problem. I upgraded to 1.8.12 and it just instantly fails now:

Anywhere I can download 1.8.11 ??

I searched too, and I found that MakeMKV actually has all the old versions on the website. Here is the list of the old versions: http://www.makemkv.com/download/old/.

Here is the direct download link for the Windows version of 1.8.11.exe: http://www.makemkv.com/download/old/Set ... 1.8.11.exe.

Anyone who is getting the error that it is too old just needs to register the key again.

Does it work if you don't select audio tracks at all? Can you please indicate what specific audio track causes the issue?

The stereo PCM tracks in Season 4 of Merlin still rip fine. It has both a 24 bit sound track and a 16 bit commentary track. The pure 24 bit audio in the first Iron Man AA BD disc works fine too, as does the second VBD PCM disc. However, POTC 5.1 16 bit PCM fails to rip with those exact debug messages.

-Edit- The 24 bit stereo PCM auxiliary track in Transformers: Prime S1 rips without a problem...
-Edit 2- The 16 bit stereo PCM audio in Skins S5 is immune too. That's every kind of Stereo passing, all in titles with multiple segments (Play Alls).

Excuse me? I posted a thread with logs and got exactly 0 responses. I then followed up in my thread and another with exactly what the problem is.

For me Superbad failed if LPCM was selected, and ripped fine if it was not.

And yes, they do work if you deselect the PCM tracks.

It appears there were a couple of threads that got merged so I doubt his comment was directed at you

People want the lossless audio though. That's one of the big reasons of using MakeMKV.

I was answering Mikes question, not making a suggestion.
