Movie is split to many titles

Why movie is made of many titles and how to join them?
You know how there's more on a disc than just the main feature (like menus, special features, etc.)? The days of VHS are long gone.
As for the main feature itself, it's got to be one of the two titles at the top, with s size of 27 GB.
