Cars 2 Problem.

Post by headhot »

I'm trying to back up Cars 2 BD with makemkv on OSX and I'm getting this error:

MakeMKV v1.7.0 darwin(x86-release) started
Debug logging enabled, log will be saved as MakeMKV_log.txt
Optical drive "DVD+R-DL OPTIARC DVD RW AD-5690H 4AH5" opened in DASPI v1.3 mode.
Optical drive "BD-RE MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ-220S 1.00" opened in DASPI v1.3 mode.
Backing up disc into folder "~/Movies/backup/CARS2_D1"
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.

This error:

Code: Select all

Error 'Scsi error - MEDIUM ERROR:UNRECOVERED READ ERROR' occurred while reading '/BDMV/STREAM/00948.m2ts' at offset '119406592'
Literally means the drive can't read the disc. There are no copy protections that can cause this. This leaves you with 2 possibilities:

1. The disc you are trying to ripped is damaged, dirty or poorly manufactured.
2. The drive you are using to rip the disc is failing and mechanically unsound.

The first thing you should do is return the disc for a new one and get a new one to test.
