Hi, I know this isn't technically the correct place (Blu-ray discs) as it's actually a HD-DVD disc, but closer to Blu-ray than UHD or DVD )

Anyway I have been ripping my old hd-dvd's to mkv files with MakeMKV with no issues apart from some "rotted" titles. However this movie T2 - Kinowelt German steelbook dosen't fail like the other titles with disc rot (loads of seek errors etc) - it pretty much instantly comes back with the below error after clicking the icon.

Failed to open disc

Is this an issue where the software cant find the disc in an online database lookup and so giving this error - or just another rotted disc. Its probably the one I most wanted to make a copy out of my collection !

I don't have access to a physical player anymore.

Any clarification / help would be greatly appreciated,

I don't think MakeMKV has to find anything in an online database for this disc. If it was a 4K UHD disc then MakeMKV would need to download a hashed key, but for an old HD-DVD I don't think it has to do any of that.
