Please email the dump file to svq@makemkv.com.

If you want to contribute to the public keydb, read the first post in this thread: Public KeyDB Disc Submissions

Please explain it to me like I'm an idiot. I use Make MKV, I'm not an expert at it. Thanks

I presume you're confused about what to do with the dump file MakeMKV produced and how it relates to eventually being able to rip your disc. I wrote a more detailed post here: https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=186497#p186497

I'm sorry. None of that made any sense to me. You told what to do but not how to do it.

Attach the dump file to an email and send it to svq@makemkv.com. Unless you can be more detailed about where you're getting stuck, I don't know how to be more clear.

I've done that. I don't understand adding it to a list, checking said list or what to do once that's done.

If you've emailed it, in a few days a hashed key will likely be available and all you have to do is try to rip your disc again. If a key is available MakeMKV will download it and let you rip the disc. Unfortunately you can't know how long it'll take for a hashed key to be made.

If you don't want to try using the public keydb you don't have to. It is optional, but there might already be a key for your disc in the keydb. If not, if you contribute your dump file a key will likely be added relatively quickly, often faster than the key mechanism built into MakeMKV.

Hi there

I have the same issue with Wings and Who Are You.

I cannot attach the winrar file which I think is the dump file.
MKB_V81_save.tgz and
MKB_V82_save.tgz

So I created .rar files and have uploaded them

Also please advise exactly where to save the keydb.cfg file whhich I downloaded from http://fvonline-db.bplaced.net.

Here is a jpg of that directory.

I place it in the directory .Makemkv.

But still no success.

I am hoping for a MakeMkv update.....

Thanks

Howard

The file you downloaded should've been a .zip file. Inside that zip file should be one big text file.

The file goes in the MakeMKV data directory. Look on the General tab of MakeMKV's preferences to see where that directory is. Restart MakeMKV after putting the file in the right place.
