Is it possible that your drive is only a DVD reader?

Blu-rays use a different wavelength of light laser to read discs. Most combo drives have two lasers in them, one for CDs and DVDs and one for blu-rays.

That was my first thought as well, but the reported product name (BD-RW BDR-XD05) is indeed a Blu-ray drive.

The third line of your drive information says:
Current profile: DVD-ROM
Which is what made me wonder if the hardware was DVD only.

Assuming the drive is a slim drive where either the lid lifts up to allow a disc to be inserted or a tray ejects for the disc, you should be able to see the laser assembly pretty easily and verify there are two lasers.
