Hello MakeMKV Team,

First of all, thanks for your amazing work on this software!

I recently tried to rip two brand-new Blu-ray discs, Eden and Death of a Unicorn, but MakeMKV reports that these discs use a newer version of AACS protection which is currently unsupported.

Here is the log output from MakeMKV:
MakeMKV v1.18.1 darwin(arm64-release) started
Optical drive "BD-RE PIONEER BD-RW BDR-UD03 1.14 AFDL412486WLd" opened in OS access mode.
Using LibreDrive mode (v01.0 id=F39BF9BC17BE)
Using direct disc access mode
Loaded content hash table, will verify integrity of M2TS files.
This disc uses newer version of AACS protection. Please let us know about it by visiting http://www.makemkv.com/a/?NHKrO1ZlIRplcc...
I have already updated MakeMKV to the latest version, but the problem persists.
Could you please investigate and consider updating the AACS keys or software to support these titles?

If you need any specific information or logs from my side, I’m happy to provide them.

Thanks again for your help and dedication!

Best regards

MakeMKV tells you what version of AACS the disc has before you open it.

Are you using the system rollback trick? If so, and you're setting the time back while MakeMKV is still open, that's probably why you're getting this.

I’m not using the system rollback trick at all.
I tested MakeMKV on both Mac and PC, and with these two new discs (“Eden” and “Death of a Unicorn”), they can’t be opened on either system, same result on both.

Are they AACS v82? Is so, please email the dumps to svq@makemkv.com.

Additionally, if you also make the dump available for download on the internet somewhere, then the key can also be added to the public KeyDB as well.

Just to let you know, I have sent the encrypted dump files for both “Eden” and “Death of a Unicorn” directly to Mike via email.

I hope a solution will be found
