Issues w/ keydb.cfg and/or FindVUK(now with AACS dumps)

Post by kaito »

Edit: https://gofile.io/d/FL8BLy Dumps inside. Including the C086 one written below.

I come crossed some AACS v82 BDs.
As I submitted the AACS dumps to svq@makemkv.com and is waiting for an update, I tried FindVUK(and SamuriHL's KeyDB helper) but had no luck.
FindVUK did grab something, later re-validated using KeyDB helper, yet MakeMKV still suffers from decryption errors. (DVDRip seems fine.)
I also synced keydb.cfg via KeyDB helper. Won't help.

My guesses: A. MakeMKV is somehow not recognizing keydb.cfg anyway.
B. FindVUK validated VUKs against 00000.m2ts only, which turned out to be a copyright warning. Real stuff are encrypted w/ other keys. (And I should go to Doom9 to report this if it's the case?)

Hey kaito, it looks like the keydb only had unit keys (UK) for your discs. If you sync the keydb again your discs should have complete records now.

Unfortunately MakeMKV only utilises the keydb file as a source of volume unique keys (VUK). These keys are used to derive the unit keys, which in turn are used to decrypt the disc content. There is no technical reason why MakeMKV couldn't utilise the keydb to decrypt your disc, it is just a limitation of MakeMKV at the moment.

The FindVUK log notes that your discs only have a single unit key. Any encrypted content can only be encrypted with that single key.
