Backup immediately fails

Edit (Solution): Was trying to write to a drive that did not exist. Apparently makemkv does not tell you that directly.

I could use some help. After a month long hiatus, before which I could backup Blu Ray without problems, I have now two new separate Blu Ray discs.

For both, the backup immediately fails. Can anyone help?

Try gently cleaning the discs, even though they're brand new. Sometimes there's something on a brand new disc that's invisible to the eye but makes reading it difficult for the optical drive.

Sadly, this doesnt help. I often could alleviate errors during the backup by cleaning the disc, but this immediate failure is new. I tried multiple discs.

Could it be a drive problem?

Well, I am officially a dumbass. I was trying to write to a drive which I hadnt plugged in.
A bit weird that makemkv does not just tell me that is the issue.

Case closed!
