You should really get a new drive. These are physical disc errors.

You should really get a new drive. These are physical disc errors.
A new drive? Would a better drive handle the discs better or did you mean that the disc is defective and that i need a new disc?

Hi!

I believe that the first of the 3 quoted errors is, by itself, indicative of a disc (media) problem. However, the second and third errors clearly indicate problems with the physical drive - and, as such, may cause the first type of error as well...

hi guys, i got a replacement disc from the shop and successfully ripped The Goonies just now... whew!

i've never had any problems with regular dvd but having just got a blu ray drive for my computer because i was so dissapointed with the video quality from the iTunes store HD movies that I bought... basically really surprised that i've had so many bad discs in such a short time... maybe a better drive can deal with disc defects more easily???

anyway, much happier with even the 720p that i get after handbraking to AppleTV 2 settings after using makemkv....

it isn't as quick as downloading from itunes but at least i don't have to suffer the dismal itunes hd quality.... whew!
