Godfather Trilogy - Coppala Restoration

Post by Jsbulger »

Having an issue with just DISC 1. I was able to get Disc 2 & 3, but Disc 1 errors out every time. I searched the forum for the hash check error, but that just says I have a bad Driver, which I know I do not, since it is working for a bunch of other BDs, just not this one disc. I have attached a TXT of the output from the MakeMKV application.

There is a "bad spot" on this disk that your drive can't read easily, and, in at least one case, at all. Cleaning the disk may help.

I'd be suspicious that all the read problems were at a large offset from the beginning of the disk. There are places where the disk transitions between layers, which can be sensitive to dirt/contamination.

I waited a few months, tried again and it just worked. I'm not sure exactly what caused it to finally work.

I'm getting the same issue. Brand new Blu-ray, still had the plastic around the case before I loaded it into the drive. The discs for Part 2 and 3 worked fine. I can play Part 1 on my PS4 just fine. I've tried cleaning the drive and reading it on both Mac and Windows, but the issue persists.

These two errors over and over in the logs:
