Hi,
I'm trying to rip episodes on Blu-ray disks and even though they aren't classified well, I manage to organize everything afterward, but in each disk, one episode is duplicated and only has one audio language attributed to it. For example, S01E20 is there twice, but one version the audio is in English and the other is in French. In every other episodes, both languages are there. I managed to extract one language and play it together on Jellyfin, but it is a bit out of sync. I've seen what seemed duplicates in the past, but it was really 2 different versions of the movie (animated movie with one version with written texts in English and the other in French), but this one the video is exactly the same. Do you know of any way to correct that episode or is it due to anti-rip tactics or bad organization?
Duplicate episode on disk but each has its own language
Re: Duplicate episode on disk but each has its own language
When you are looking at the contents of the disc in MakeMKV and, on the left, you highlight one of the duplicate titles, on the right, in the info box, will be a bunch of data. One item will be the 'segment map'. Is the segment map different for each of the duplicate titles?
If the segment map is different, then the duplicate episodes come from different video files on the disc. If the segment map is the same, then the duplicate episodes come from the same video file on the disc.
If the same, you could create a decrypted backup of the disc (icon of yellow folder with green arrow), open the backup in MKVToolNix, and convert that one episode to .mkv with both languages since undoubtedly the underlying .m2ts file contains both languages.
If different, then there's likely something different with the video between the two titles.

Ah, I see they have 2 different segments even though I couldn't notice anything different in the videos. Thanks!
