MakeMKV failure reading disk?

I wasn't sure where to post this.
I was running into DEBUG errors. I was re-directed to the website where it said basically the error indicates a failing drive. Weirdly, I could watch the movie so I was confused.
I just did a lot of work on my PC so I shutoff the drive and checked the USB port. It was plugged into the BIOS flash port which doesn't normally cause me issues but apparently the drive did not like it.
When I move to a USB3 port and powered it on again, all is well.
