Made a full MKV of the whole disc without making any changeds and the movie struggles to play and has no sound.
I am new to this, have i done something wrong.
Is it beneficial making a MKV of the whole disk or should i do just the movie file.

What are you using to playback your backup? (Standalone Blu-ray player, pc software, streaming, etc.)

I am using a WD Live media player to playback from a Netgear My Stora NAS.

The bit rate is really high on lots of action movies. I've found many devices just can't handle that amount of data sometimes. If you change the data stream from MPEG2 to h264, however it often works much better. It takes a long time to convert, but it seems to do the trick often times. Using Linux, transcode combined with the mkv tools, or Handbrake seem to work for the conversion just fine as well.

Not as simple as i thought it would be.
I thought i would be able to make a MKV file and just plug and play.

I have this movie and I also have a WD TV Live. It works fine when I play it back from an attached hard drive.

The problem is with your NAS or your network or both.

I guess you're all luckier than me. I'm getting a failed error on this BluRay.
When I get home, I'll grab the log file and post it.
