No audio on my MKV file

Hello,

I ripped a Blu-Ray but I don't have any audio coming out on my movie.

I've never had any problems with regular DVDs.

How can I fix the problem please?

Another problem I have is that my MKV file won't open on my video editing software.

While I already import MKV files to then edit them

A likely source of the issue is a player that does not understand the audio in the MKV file. Have you tried a different player?

What player are you using to play the .mkv file?

The utility MediaInfo can show you a bunch of details about your .mkv files, including details about any of the audio tracks in the file. What does MediaInfo say about the .mkv file?

On your computer, what piece of software are you using to play the .mkv files you create with MakeMKV? Windows Media Player? VLC? Something else?

yeah most of those are not going to support the encoded lossless codecs in makemkv you should covert them to flac or pcm then they might work

Do I need to flash my drive/writer?

No. This isn't a problem with your optical drive or MakeMKV.

The contents of blu-rays are usually in a different format than on DVDs. As Billycar11 suggested, Filmora likely doesn't understand the audio format copied from the blu-ray into the .mkv file.

I've tested other new Blu-Rays.

For the ones that are detected and that I can extract there is always this problem or there is no sound once extracted by Makemkv.

But has sound if I open it for playback in VLC.

Others are not recognized at all in any software or even by my PC.

I've also tested on PS5 some work very well and some are unreadable.
