Region Problems.

I am in Region "A" I have drives that have the "updated" frimware ie patched for region free and now all of the sudden my discs say they are for region A and will not play in VLC. this is new as of a couple days ago. I have tried everything I can think of. suggestions?

Set the region of the disc in vlc

What Billy said. VLC seems to default to region B if you don’t set it to something else.

So yeah I missed this somehow and boom. Fixed. But why did it change in the first place. I was in the middle of ripping a series and got to disc three and that is when I started having problems disc 1-2 were fine then at 3 all messed up.

Maybe VLC updated and reset some settings? Or maybe, for some reason, the first few discs weren’t region locked?
